Bogeonso (which is actually a public health center) does  free ultrasounds!  The Dongdaemun-gu office is right next to the Homeplus at Yongdu station.  Their number is 2127-5379 but due to their limited English ability,  you should have a Korean speaker call, if you can’t make the call yourself.

Soonchunhyang Hospital- SEOUL

The staff at Soonchunhyang Hospital can be fantastic – very friendly & enough English to communicate if you don’t speak Korean. The beds on Level 6 can be  awful, so if you can, bring in some extra bedding to make it more comfortable.

Also worth noting is that if you’re staying over the weekend, don’t expect any doctors to do rounds on Sunday. As well no-one will tell you what to expect over the next few days, so get your questions in when you first see the doctor(s) after delivery.

They will follow your birth plan, so much so that you need to make sure it’s 100% up-to-date and clear as they’ll treat you and your baby according to your birth plan without double-checking/getting permission.

Would recommend Dr Lee & Lisa at Soon Chun Hyang – SEOUL

Soon Chung Hyang SEOUL has a Wellbaby Clinic. They provide the BCG vaccination against Tuberculosis and it costs just under 60,000 won. Some foreigners opt not to have that vaccination, based on the schedule in their own countries, but if you plan on staying in Korea long term it is recommended as Korea has a 10% rate of tuberculosis. They put a liquid (the vaccine) on the baby’s arm, then press the needles through the liquid into the skin. It takes a couple of minutes for the liquid to dry, and then you’re good to go. The baby should not shower for 24 hours or get the vaccination site wet.
The nurses are thorough and will call someone from the International Clinic to come and translate if needed. The staff in the International Clinic are always so friendly and helpful. They help make appointments for different departments, assist with the payment, translate, ETC.
A female doctor in the Wellbaby Clinic is very nice and calm, and speaks in English. Also, they have an information sheet about the BCG vaccination in English.
In the waiting area, there’s a changing station where you can change the baby’s diaper and breastfeed if needed. It is a comfortable place to take the baby for a check up.
Have you used this clinic? What was your experience? Please leave a comment! Thanks!
